'Though my back is broke with worry and toil
My dreams of heaven this life can't spoil
Knuckles may be swollen, fingers nothin' but bone
Soon enough won't be alone
Trudge through the mornin' and into the night
Every day is a fight
Don't expect to win, don't expect no prize
Glory I want not meant for these eyes
Some call it Eden, others Shangri-la
Be happy to rest in Arcadia
To rest my head in Arcadia
Maybe it's not heaven or paradise
Gotta be better than than this bucket of ice
Sittin' by my bed to soak my toes
Best not to think of tomorrow's woes
But what if I'm wrong, what if the joke's on me
What if there's nothin' left when I cease to be
Been livin' on faith and bread for so long
Never question what's there when I'm gone
Maybe this is it, all that'll ever be
Time to question what my eyes see
So if this is it, heaven on earth
Time to get my toils' worth
A nice patch of earth, that's enough to inspire
Here in Arcadia I will expire
Some call it Eden, others Shangri-la
Be happy to rest in Arcadia
To rest my head in Arcadia
