Memory Play
In these places, we battled and triumphed. At times, we looted. Here, I married at least once and I was never Robin. Spells were cast and experiments were conducted to makes us something other than human.
For at least one week, I could not stop dying. Lava and quicksand awaited us, always a step away. There was the slow realization that invincibility also proved to be a potent antidote for fun.
Through it all, we remained oblivious to the universes of adventures and imaginings that had transpired before our arrival, in these places.
Memory Play is an ongoing series of drawing and paintings that depicts the possible history of play in specific locations from the artist’s childhood.
